Weekend Highlights for mid July
…as seen on HometownHeadlines.com….
TONIGHT
Russell McClanahan and the mOOn Crew will continue to perform their homage to old-time string band music in the dining room of Harvest Moon. McClanahan has performed with many people there almost since Harvest Moon has been open, including Rome’s musical legend, Kasper “Stranger” Malone.
El Willie will set the atmosphere at Old Havana with his smooth renditions of classic jazz, soul, and r&b hits.
The Oomp Camp DJ’s will provide flavorful dance music at McCrobie’s on Super Crunk Thursday.
Scott Warren & Friends will return to the 400 Block with a hearty dose of jam based Southern rock and country blues.
FRIDAY
Two exciting bands will take the stage at McCrobie’s. Rome’s Unseen Stimuli will provide some raw punk rock while Before the Solstice out of Athens pays homage to classic prog rock and experimental music.
The Grooveshakers are a funk/blues/rock combo from Rydal, that will be taking the stage on Friday and Saturday night in Schroeder’s. No, unfortunately, you can not camp out in the Courtyard.
333 on Broad is a welcome recent addition to the Broad Street music scene offering an acoustic lounge. It is at the old Prickly Pear location. Friday, 333 will have live music from Cory Tucker, a local favorite in the acoustic songwriter scene.
The Nest is the new coffee shop in Downtown Rome next to Jefferson’s. They are one of the newest venues in Rome for live music on Friday nights. This week they will offer music from The Winshape Boys, Andrew Watson, Carl Edge and Chris Hayes.
Leslie Gaddy will perform her acoustic country and Southern rock for the dinner crowd at Opi’s Waterfront, followed by karaoke.
SATURDAY
Just a reminder that the Grooveshakers will return for round two at the Schroeder’s Courtyard.
333 on Broad is proud to present Gareth Asher, the up-and-coming acoustic pop rock artist from Atlanta.
Haven has rocked Rome crowds many times in the past five years. After taking a short break, they have returned with just as much, if not more, of the energy that drives their heavy alternative rock sound. Venue: Peach Palace.
Joe’s Old Band will perform at McCrobie’s.
