Jeremy is a friend of mine who I've
known for about five years or so. He's
definitely an original and creative
character. Most of you who have been
living in Rome and paying attention to
the music scene for the past five or six
years have seen his artwork on extremely
detailed and creative show posters for
equally creative bands like Red Eye Jedi
and The Strange. |

When I asked him to give me a little
background for the website he told me
that when he was a kid, he used lots of
classroom time to draw. His favorite
things to draw back then were little
scenes in which one guy would be the
unfortunate soul traveling in an
unforgiving death trap landscape. Hand
grenades would be falling from planes.
The ground he stood on would be an inch
thick, and beneath that would be spikes
ready to impale him. Of course the
ground was also soaked in gas and, oops,
someone just dropped a match. But that
was elementary school. |

In middle school it was slightly
different, trading immanent death for
the grotesque. Skulls, blood, and the
occult would linger out of his pen. He
says that it's not because he has a sick
mind or anything, but that it takes more
attention to detail to draw things that
are nasty or grungy. |

After high school (spent mostly doodling on the
edges of papers and book covers) he was
introduced to Lucy. Lucy taught Jeremy to keep
beauty in mind while drawing. The two of them
would wander off for hours and just draw. Some
of his favorite works came from those late night
sessions. They're not friends anymore but Jeremy
still misses those good ole days. |

Finally, after a life of artwork, he realized
what he wanted to do, art. He taught himself
programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and In
Design, then set out to conquer the "not so
small city anymore" of Rome. I was lucky enough
to have Jeremy show me a few things on
Photoshop. He's a great teacher. |

His passion is for fine art of the random pen
kind, but his bread and butter is in commercial
art and design, making album covers for bands,
concert posters, manipulating photos, vector
art, and anything new he can think of. His
business is called The 45th Hour, through which
he does everything under the sun: logos, basic
web layout design, or whatever is needed. His
mission is to beautify the things that aren't so
beautiful and never forget where he came from. |

He likes to recall that nothing is perfect, but
the pursuit of perfection is Divine.
